Counsellor at feelings and healing provide therapeutic support to enhance all aspects of our clients lives by helping them overcome barriers by tailoring individualised needs. We also support people to discover their life beyond Trauma and Challenges.

With NDIS participants, as therapist we can also connect with the individual’s carers and support coordinators to assist with the mental health challenges of daily living. This would include things such as shared living, life transitions, community participation and social and economic participation.

Individual Counselling

Therapist will work individually with the client to achieve the desired outcomes. The therapist aims to facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth and the optimal development of personal resources. The therapist will also assist the participant to work towards their personal goals and gain greater insight into their life. Individual counselling helps your clarity on consent and boundaries, Confidence to carve out a life you love. Individual counselling nurture self-love and equip you with the tools to find your own wings.

Group or Family Counselling

At Feelings and Healing we can work with in the setting of a small group (up to three participants), an individual therapist will facilitate discussion sessions. This gives participants the opportunity to learn from each other, build friendships and connect over shared experiences. Goals can be identified and set together as a group. Group counselling can also improve participants’ teamwork and communication skills, which will improve other community participation such as increased social activities and employment.

Community Engagement Assistance

With the specific aim to improve social relations and community participation of individuals, we work on individual’s Anxiety and fears to engage with in the choice of community. The outcomes of this services are to empower participants and to improve their interactions with each other and their social networks. Assistance may be provided to engage effectively in the community through a different practical strategies and approaches to help clients achieve identified social or community goals, gain insight into their lives and make informed decisions and overcome life challenges.

Social Skill improvement

Social skills involve how individuals interact and cooperate with others, and encompasses concepts such as sharing, participation, listening to others, being able to follow instruction/direction, having adequate manners, being respectful and considerate, being able to resolve conflicts, and positive interactions (e.g. praising others, not bullying).Social Skill improvement helps individuals who have problems with social skills and social interactions. Social skills improvements generally involve cognitive behavioural therapies that are aimed to alter how an individual perceives and comprehends their environment and help them better understand appropriate social behaviours.
